What is Testosterone?

Testosterone is the primary male hormone. It is naturally produced by the testes.

What does it do?

Testosterone helps a man maintain:

  1. Sex drive and sexual function
  2. Muscle mass and strength
  3. Bone strength
  4. Mood and energy
  5. Sperm production
  6. Normal sleep patterns
  7. Normal weight

How do I know if my Testosterone levels are low?

Begin by viewing our symptoms page. If you have any of the following symptoms you may be low:

  1. A decrease in libido (sex drive)
  2. A lack of energy
  3. A decrease in strength and endurance
  4. Erections that are less strong
  5. A decrease in your enjoyment of life
  6. Sad or grumpy moods
  7. A recent deterioration in your ability to play sports
  8. A recent deterioration in your work performance
  9. Falling asleep soon after dinner

What if I have symptoms?

If you experience any of the symptoms associated with low Testosterone, contact one of our clinics to get your Testosterone levels checked. Regular checkups and age-appropriate screenings can improve your health and extend your life.

What benefits will I get from the therapy?

Testosterone Replacement can help:

  1. Build lean muscle
  2. Improve sexual performance
  3. Enhance sex drive
  4. Increase energy
  5. Improve mood
  6. Improve mental clarity and quickness
  7. Protect against heart disease
  8. Restore lost zest for life
  9. Removes depression
  10. Decreases stress levels

How did my levels get low in the first place?

Testosterone normally declines as men get older. During puberty, testosterone levels are at a lifetime peak. These levels begin to decline about the age of 23. Testosterone naturally declines because the pituitary slows due to natural aging.

The effects of environmental pollutants including petrochemicals from insecticides can cause the pituitary to slow prematurely. It is much more common for us to see clients in their mid to early thirties with low levels of testosterone.

Certain pre-existing medical conditions can also cause low Testosterone levels such as:
  1. Diabetes – Men with diabetes are up to twice as likely as nondiabetics to have low testosterone levels
  2. Obesity – Obese men are twice as likely to develop low testosterone levels
  3. High blood pressure
  4. High cholesterol
  5. Asthma/Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

How long before I see results?

Symptoms will start to improve in as few as 7 to 14 days. If you practice a healthy lifestyle and live an active life by beginning an organized exercise program you can totally transform your life in as little as 6 weeks.

Is Testosterone Replacement Therapy safe?

If done correctly, replacing Testosterone is safe. We use as close to possible bio-identical natural hormones i.e. hormones identical to the hormones produced naturally by the body. These are not the synthetic hormones made in a laboratory and used by some athletes and body builders. We use only FDA approved Testosterone.

What type of Testosterone do you use?

We only use bio-identical Testosterone Cypionate approved by the FDA.

How is it administered?

It is administered by intramuscluar injection to the gluteal or deltoid muscle.

How often do you administer the injections?

Injections are scheduled every 7 days.

I think my levels are low. Now what?

You know the symptoms. You’ve reviewed our symptom page to determine your risk. It’s time to schedule an evaluation by calling your local office or by making an appointment online. All information submitted online is sent to our offices using data encryption and secure servers. Your privacy is our priority.

How much does the treatment cost?

The cost for testosterone replacement therapy can be found on our pricing page.

Do you take my insurance?

At Encore, we do not take insurance. Our direct-pay plan has several advantages that include true price transparency, high quality care, affordable fees, no co-pays, no deductibles, no pre-existing condition exclusions and a plan not tied to an employer. None of your health information regarding low-testosterone and hypogonadism will be linked to your individually identifiable health information (IIHI).

I made my first appointment what can I expect?

After you fill out a few forms, you will be seen by a clinician who will review your medical history  and draw blood for a Total Testosterone level and PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen)

How long will it take?

Your initial visit takes about 15 minutes. You may download our forms here and bring them with you to save time.

When will I know my lab results?

Each patient will receive a phone call, email, or text within 24 hours directly from Encore to review lab results.
